Furnishing a Room for Rent in Your Home: the Tops Do’s and Dont’s

DON’T consume yourself about artwork. No one really likes having bare walls inside of their bedroom. At the same time, when it comes to artwork, different people have different tastes. So, aside from perhaps an art deco mirror, avoid hanging any art. However, do let prospective renters know that they are free to hang some once they move in.

DO have an area rug and some colored blinds. When it comes to window treatments, this is also something that a lot of people have personal preferences about. However, for the sake of privacy and room staging, do make sure that you have some neutral-colored blinds hanging. Also, in order to protect your flooring, it is always a good idea to put down a neutral-colored area rug as well. In fact, you might want to pick up a couple of different ones, just in case the renter prefers one look over the other.
